The Perfect T-shirt

Posted By fueledbyhodder on Jul 21, 2009 at 8:16AM

I'm definitely a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl, aren't we all? I'm no plane Jane though, and I'm sure neither are you. I just love the simple, crisp look of a t-shirt, whether it be with jeans, a skirt, or as a dress. Especially because the accessories you use to spice the look up, and make it your own. So, in celebration of the perfect t-shirt, here are a few of my favorites I have found.

First up, this fitted slouch tee from Lamixx...

Yes its a bit 80's, but its perfect for summer, pair with some skinny jeans or leggings, and accessorize to your hearts content. Anyway you decide to dress this baby up, you'll be sexy and chic. Its available here in sizes S-XL and just $30.

Next, and probably one of my favorites, is this double t-shirt dress from Take Off Your Clothes...

These beautiful dresses were made with 2 XXL t-shirts, sewn together at the neckline with a little magic and a lot of talent. An added cowl hood, and pockets, make this dress a labor of love. Pair it with some boots and some earrings for summer, or some jeans and a jacket for those cooler months. They are available here in sizes M-L for $60

Ureshii has recently become one of my favorite shops. Aside from their gorgeous, comfortable, tops, they also have great skirts and bottoms (most of which come in an array of colors and the measurements are completely custom). Here are a few of my favorite tops, and the color chart.

Available here, sizes are  customizable and range from $24 to $55

That's all for now, enjoy...

Zombie Home Ec

Posted By fueledbyhodder on Jul 14, 2009 at 8:08AM

I have always had quite the obsession with zombies, B grade horror movies, and the macabre. I also happen to have a somewhat healthier obsession with house decor, so I'm always  looking for really cute, unique, and practical adornments for my undead love. Go on and eat your hearts out over these, or should I say eat your brains?

the Art of Propaganda

Posted By fueledbyhodder on Jul 13, 2009 at 7:50AM

Happy Monday everyone,

My feature today is of three independent artists who specialize in Propaganda; reproductions and recreations. I always find propaganda fascinating and inspirational, or just plain fun. Enjoy...

First up is Chris Fritton, he has reprinted these lovely British WWII morale posters;

They were created using antique wood type and an antique proof press. They are available at his store for $25.

By Order of the Crown has a wide variety of reprints of the iconic British WWII "Keep Calm and Carry On" propaganda

They all come in a rainbow of colors, prices start from $14.98 to $19.98, and are available here.

Lastly, and probably one of my favorites, is artist Brian Moore. He has revamped some classic WWII propaganda posters into WWIII: Clash of the Internet Cultures! Here are a couple of my favorites

These aren't available for purchase yet, but you can sign up here to be notified when they start to print.

That's all for now, hopefully these "boosted your morale" somewhat, as they do me.

xoxo

Welcome to Viva la Indie! I hope to turn this blog into a showcase of independant artists of all shapes and sizes. Not sure where this will go yet, but I hope to have daily picks, possible DIY tips and links, and just an overall indie source and supporter. Stay tuned, I can't wait to figure out this whole on sugar thing and fine tune this baby!
